Then, with stirring, gradually add an aqueous solution of ruthenium (III) acid (H3RuO4) to the sodium chloride solution. During the dripping process, the pH value of the solution should be maintained within the acidic range. As the dripping process progresses, precipitation will be observed. At this point, the dripping can be stopped, then the precipitate can be washed with water, and finally dried. The product obtained by this method is Ruthenium(III) chloride.

    2. Gas phase method: In the gas phase method, the first step is to react the ruthenium metal with chlorine gas. The reaction can take place at high temperatures. The ruthenium metal is placed in the reactor, and then passes through the reactor through chlorine to react with the ruthenium metal to generate Ruthenium(III) chloride gas. This gas can get solid Ruthenium(III) chloride through proper cooling and solidification process. Attention should be paid to safety during the preparation process, as chlorine gas is irritating and toxic.
