Recovery of germanium fluoride_ Germanium tetrafluoride recovery_ Rare metal catalyst recycling manufacturer

Germanium fluoride is a colorless crystalline solid with a strong pungent odor. It is stable at room temperature, but decomposes to produce toxic fluoride gas when heated. Germanium fluoride is almost insoluble in water, but can be dissolved in some organic solvents, such as ethanol and ether. It is a strong oxidant and is corrosive to many organic substances. Waste germanium tetrafluoride is one of the sources for the recovery of germanium-containing precious metal catalysts. The recovery of germanium-containing precious metal catalysts also includes germanium sulfide recovery, germanium iodide recovery, germanium chloride recovery, germanium oxide recovery, germanium selenide recovery, etc.

Germanium fluoride is a colorless crystalline solid with a strong pungent odor. It is stable at room temperature, but when heated, it decomposes to produce toxic fluoride gas. Germanium fluoride is almost insoluble in water, but can be dissolved in some organic solvents, such as ethanol and ether. It is a strong oxidant and corrosive to many organic substances.

There are several different ways to prepare germanium fluoride. The following will introduce two commonly used preparation methods:

    1. Direct reaction method: Germanium fluoride can be prepared by directly reacting germanium with hydrogen fluoride (HF) at a certain temperature and pressure. The reaction equation is as follows: Ge+2HF -> GeF4+H2. In the laboratory, germanium powder is usually reacted with hydrogen fluoride gas under high temperature conditions. The germanium fluoride gas generated by the reaction will be condensed and collected. This method requires strict control of reaction temperature and gas pressure to ensure high yield and purity of germanium fluoride products.

    2. Fluorinating agent method: another common method of preparing germanium fluoride is to use fluorinating agents, such as hydrogen fluoride (HF) or Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), to react with germanium containing compounds. The reaction equation is as follows: GeO2+4HF -> GeF4+2H2O, GeO2+2SF6-> GeF4+2SO2. In this method, the germanium oxide (usually Germanium dioxide) reacts with a fluorinating agent to form germanium fluoride. This method is relatively simple and easy to control reaction conditions. It is commonly used in large-scale industrial production.

Waste Germanium tetrafluoride is one of the sources of recovery of germanium containing noble metal catalysts. Recovery of germanium containing noble metal catalysts also includes recovery of germanium sulfide, germanium iodide, germanium chloride, germanium oxide and germanium selenide.
